for?
The standard chod rig is perfect for any fishing situation where the weed, silt or chod isn’t too bad For example, if the lake you’re fishing is 6ft-8ft deep with weed growth of 2ft, your 3ft length of leadcore/leader would still present perfectly.
Can you fish a PVA bags with a helicopter rig?

Can you use a bottom bait on a helicopter rig?
Aggressive casts when fishing at distance can often leave rigs prone to tangles and therefore a stiff-style rig with maximum anti- tangle properties is required. For this I use a fine-tuned ‘Bottom Bait Chod Rig’, fished helicopter style.
Can you use Heli safe with tubing?

What is a
ronnie rig
?
The Ronnie rig is essentially a low lying pop up rig , enabling the boilie subtly sit up just off the lake bed making it ideal for when there is not too much weed or debris.
Why do fisheries ban leaders?
We are finding too many lengths of broken line and broken leaders. This is not good for the next angler in the swim or the Carp. So in order to prevent any damage to Carp being lost due to line or leader breakage , we are introducing a ban on all leaders until further notice.

Lead arrangement I use an Adjustable Lead Clip for all my Ronnie Rig fishing If I am fishing a weedy or snaggy water I will cut the end of the lead clip back so there are less ribs under the tail rubber; this will ensure the lead is ejected every time.
What’s the difference between a chod rig and a Ronnie rig?
A cross between the Chod Rig and the Ronnie Rig. While the Chod Rig presents over almost any bottom, it can look a little blatant The Ronnie Rig offers super effective hooking mechanics but is restricted by the lakebed type you fish it over. However, the Roddie – a cross hybrid of those two (hence the name!).
How long should you leave a PVA bag out for?
If I’m on a venue like Orchid where you’re only really fishing for one or two carp in 24 hours then I would happily give it up to 10 hours, maybe 12 hours overnight, but ideally six hours really If I was fishing a runs water and I’m on fish it could be every two hours.
Can you fish solid bags in silt?
The bag on the lead creates a larger surface area so doesn’t sink as far into silt (unless very soft stuff & adding some buoyant elements to the bag such as foam nuggets or a dryish light powder mix, will negate it even more). No chance of the rig pushing the top bead up then.
Can you use a lead clip with a solid PVA bag?
The short hook length will allow for the carp rig to sit inside the bag comfortably and also provide quick resistance when a carp takes the bait. Ideally, I like to use an inline lead setup which sits nicely inside the solid PVA bag but you can use a lead clip system with a small pear lead.
How long should my Hooklink be?
By long, we’re realistically talking an absolute minimum of 12ins (that’s 20cm, kids!) and I would suggest 14ins as a good starting point. Adding an anti-tangle sleeve will improve the presentation further, ejecting the hooklink away from the lead at all times.
